M\u00e5let var att skapa ett lexikon \u00f6ver signalm\u00f6nster f\u00f6r att extrahera detaljerad information om inflammationen. Forskarna anv\u00e4nde i litteraturen tillg\u00e4ngliga data och egna data f\u00f6r att utveckla metoder inom maskininl\u00e4rning, baserade p\u00e5 auto-encoders och klustring, f\u00f6r identifiering av nervsignaler som kan kopplas till olika cytokiner. Proinflammatoriska cytokiner produceras av immunf\u00f6rsvaret och uts\u00f6ndras vid bland annat skada, stress eller inflammation.
